The Anchor

A good pub can be almost magical. You step in for a quick drink between tourist stops, and then before you even think to look at your watch, you are six drinks deep with your smokeshow wife and new friends all around. 

The Anchor was exactly that. We decided on a drink at the outside deck by the river. After stepping inside to use the bathroom, we decided on one more. And on, and on. Everyone was in high spirits and the layout of the pub made it feel like five bars in one.

We ended up with a late lunch of Fish and Chips and a far too early buzz that set the tone for the rest of the night.

The Anchor is definitely one of my favorites.
